Two men were arrested and a quantity of marijuana seized during operation Grand Slam conducted by officers of Northern Division on Thursday morning.
The operation took the form of a House Search Exercise and was conducted between the hours of 6am to 10:30am in the Pinto and Arima districts.
This operation was coordinated by ACP Mystar, Snr. Supt. Francis, Supt. Kissoonlal, ASP Pitt, Insp Dedier and Insp Mascall, supervised by Sgt Naitram and Cpl Durity, and involved officers from the Pinto Police Post, Canine Unit and Arima Municipal Task Force.
The officers executed four search warrants for firearms and ammunition resulting in the arrest of two men – a 20-year-old for Possession of 522g of Marijuana and a 33-year-old for enquiries re: Domestic Abuse by the Gender Based Violence Unit.
Investigations are ongoing.
