An 11-year-old girl is being questioned by police after two men were hospitalised in serious but stable condition after they consumed coffee and tea that she prepared for them.
Police suspect that the drinks were laced with a poisonous substance.
On Tuesday evening, the men, ages 53 and 44, went to visit their friend at his home in Couva, as the man was not feeling well.
While there, the girl made coffee and tea for them.
Reports state that immediately after consuming the hot drinks, both men started feeling unwell and began vomiting before collapsing.
The two were rushed to the nearby health facility for treatment.
