A Venezuelan national is warded at hospital after he was beaten and chopped in Gasparillo on Sunday.
Arund 2:00am, the 31-year-old victim was walking along the roadway in the vicinity of Boots Bar off Lumsden Road in Gasparillo, when he was confronted by a group of men.
The group began attacking him, dealing him several blows about the body before one of the suspects pulled out a knife and stabbed him.
The suspect then fled the scene and the police and emergency health services were notified.
The responding officers conveyed the victim to the San Fernando General Hospital where he received medical treatment.
The officers also went in search of the suspects who are still at large.
