UNC Pays Tribute To Former Media Stalwart Grenfell Kissoon

The passing of Grenfell Kissoon has robbed Trinidad and Tobago and the entire Caribbean region of one of its great achievers in media management and human resources.

This is how the Opposition UNC describes Mr Kissoon’s  40-year professional career involved the transition and leadership of both private and state media in Trinidad and Tobago as well as the wider Caribbean.

He served as a director of the country’s largest business conglomerate, and his extensive media management career included being the General Manager of Trinidad and Tobago Television (TTT), Managing Director of the Trinidad Publishing Company (Guardian Media), Chairman of the Board at the Caribbean New Media Group (CNMG) and a director on the ANSA McAL board.

He made an invaluable contribution to stabilising the companies under his management and leading them to unparalleled financial growth and strength, while also serving as a mentor, mediator, and advisor.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Kissoon shared his knowledge and insights far and wide, thus making a further lasting contribution to the development of our great Republic.

He matched his competence and accomplishments with a genial personality, professional demeanour, and a purposeful zeal in mentoring anyone who sought his guidance.

While his death is a colossal loss, we are consoled by the fact that he helped to develop a generation of capable leaders in the various fields in which he served.

Mr. Kissoon’s death has made Trinidad and Tobago a poorer place.
