TTPS seize $251,437 in cash from man in Tobago

Officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force arrested one person and seized a quantity of cash during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Shirvan district on Tuesday 12th January, 2021.

The exercise was co-ordinated by Snr Supt Anand Ramasar, spearheaded and supervised by Sgt Stewart, with the assistance of officers from the Moriah and Roxborough Criminal Investigation Department, (CID) and the K-9 unit.

During the exercise, the officers conducted a search at the home of a suspect. In the course of searching, they found a large quantity of cash in various denominations in several places, in multiple pants pockets in a wardrobe and in a brown card box.

The cash totalled $251,437.

A quantity of marijuana was also found in the hand of the suspect, in addition to 13 marijuana trees, which were found on the premises.

The suspect was arrested.

Sgt. Steward and PC Ferguson are continuing investigations.
