Trade Unions Renews Call For Increase In Minimum Wage

The trade union movement renews its call for what it describes as a decent increase in the minimum wage from $17.50 to at least $30.00 an hour.

It is appealing for workers who are among the poorest in society be treated with dignity and respect.

This request is contained in a letter sent today to the Minister of Finance.

The Labour Movement is also asking for reduced fuel price, no National Insurance Board penalty for retiring at age 60 and no property tax at this time.
