THA Pays Tribute To Tourism Advocate And Spokesman Carlos Dillon

A steady advocate and spokesman for the development of the tourism industry in Tobago is how the Office of the Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly describes Carlos Dillon who passed away on Monday.

Mr. Dillon served for more than 50 years within the hospitality sector, and was the former President of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association, the first director/principal of the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute, and director of the Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute.

In addition, he was a member of several local business associations and served within the public sector on various boards and committees, including the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited.

In 2008, he was the recipient of the Hummingbird Medal Gold in the sphere of Tourism.

Chief Secretary Augustine said Mr.Dillon will be remembered for the significant contribution he has made to our island’s development.
