Teen held; stolen vehicle recovered in Arima

An 18-year-old male suspect who was allegedly caught with a stolen vehicle earlier this morning is now detained at the Sangre Grande Police Station assisting detectives with investigations.

The stolen silver Nissan B-14 is currently being processed by crime scene experts after being recovered during an exercise by officers of the Eastern Division, who responded to a report of larceny motor vehicle in the Sangre Grande district.

According to police reports, at 11.00 pm on October 10th, a man secured his vehicle, a silver Nissan B-14, by locking all doors and windows and went into his Sangre Grande home.

At 12.05 am on October 11th, the man was standing in his gallery when he observed that his vehicle drove off onto the street, without his permission.

The police were immediately contacted and officers of the Sangre Grande and Valencia Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Eastern Division Task Force, Valencia Police Post, and an off-duty police officer responded, and later intercepted in the vicinity of Dump Road, Arima.

A lone male suspect from Sangre Grande was immediately arrested.
