Street dweller shot dead by cop following stone throwing incident in POS

A policeman is said to have shot and killed a homeless man in Port of Spain on Thursday morning.

Reports state that a Municipal Police Officer was driving past the street dweller on Prince Street around 8:30 am, when the homeless man reportedly threw a stone that shattered the windscreen of the police vehicle.

It is alleged the officer stopped, came out of the car, and shot the street dweller in his head.

He then reportedly dropped the wounded man off at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where he died.

Medical officials later informed the Homicide Bureau, and the officer was detained by investigators.
