Sorrel in short supply this Christmas

If you’ve been looking for sorrel and haven’t been seeing it in the market..it’s in short supply.

Head of the Agricultural Society of Trinidad and Tobago, Daryl Rampersad, has revealed that few vendors have the crop in stock.

He said this is as a result of recent weather conditions which decimated fields of the flower.

Rampersad, in a GML report, added: “If I can count on my hand how many vendors I saw this morning with sorrel from Sangre Grande straight into the farming community of Bonne Aventure it was just one individual and I’ve spoken to several individuals who actually grow sorrel as well too and they told me they had some sorrel coming in in the earlier part of the season and with the additional rainfall most of the crops were destroyed.”
