The lives of two United States citizens and one Trinidadian were saved after their vehicle they were in in Sangre-Chiquto was swept away by flood waters.
Chairman of the Sangre-Grande Regional Corporation, Anil Juteram, said a commercial truck was brought in to pull the vehicle to safety and rescue those who were marooned.
Speaking with IzzSo Media this afternoon, Chairman Juteram complained about unauthorised land development and its impact on the communities.
He suggested the imposition of fines of developers who are not complying with the rules.
