North Eastern Division officers seized a rifle and a quantity of ammunition during an anti-crime exercise in Santa Cruz on Thursday 13th June, 2024.
During the intelligence-led exercise conducted between 3:45 pm and 6:00 pm yesterday, officers received information then proceeded to Orangefield Road, La Pastora Road, Upper Santa Cruz, where they carried out an extensive search of the area.
While searching a chicken coop, they found a black plastic bag containing one Galil Ace Sar 7.62 calibre rifle, one magazine and 30 rounds of 7.62 ammunition.
The officers took possession of the illegal items and PC Manna is continuing enquiries.
