A man was held at an apartment in Victoria Keys, Diego Martin with eight firearms, rifle component parts, and over 3,000 rounds of ammunition.
The find was made at 2pm on Thursday.
A team of officers led by W-Sgt Gonzales Thomas and Sgt Best received key intelligence which led them to the area to execute a search warrant at the apartment.
There they met the owner of the home, who was the sole occupant of the premises at the time.
Upon entering the living room, the officers observed the items scattered across the space.
A search of the premises was conducted and yielded eight pistols, a number of component parts used in the manufacture of a firearm mainly a rifle stock, butt, and magazine, along with 2353 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 432 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 458 rounds of .30mm ammunition; 37 rounds of .40mm ammunition, six rounds of .45mm ammunition, and one hollow point 9mm round.
The suspect was immediately arrested and charged.
