A pedestrian known only as “Pappy” and Abdul, was killed in an accident along the Valencia stretch on Monday morning.
The victim was attempting to cross the roadway near Swan Quarry Road, when he was hit at around 4.45am.
The vehicle, a white Toyota Fielder station wagon, was driven by a 30-year-old Mayaro woman, who was proceeding west along the Eastern Main Road.
“Pappy” was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident caused a massive traffic jam as vehicles were allowed to use only the right side of the Valencia stretch in the vicinity of the accident.
