No road repairs until flooding and landslides addressed

Works Minister Rohan Sinanan is hoping that the rain will ease today and allow river levels to recede.

Speaking on Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show, he said that pre-emptive measures are being taken nonetheless.

This he revealed included shoring up river banks to prevent any more flooding where possible.

The Works Minister said focus is also being placed on ensuring road connectivity by keeping roads passable and creating alternate routes until road repairs can be properly effected.

Minister Sinanan added that the approach to national infrastructural development must also be changed in order to address the flooding issue in years to come.
