No confirmed cases of the delta variant in Trinidad

There is confidence the various measures in place since Trinidad and Tobago’s borders reopened will help reduce the risk of the Delta variant entering the country.

Optimism of this comes from Principal Medical Officer, Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards.

The senior medical official made the comment while speaking at the Ministry of Health’s virtual media briefing today.

On Saturday the country’s borders reopened.

Dr Abdool –Richards said at present there is no confirmed laboratory cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in Trinidad and Tobago.
