It seems NGC Couva Joylanders is the band to beat in the Medium division of the National Panorama, as they garnered the most points coming out of the preliminary judging this past week.
Playing “Soca Tatie”, Joylanders scored 271 points to finish four points ahead of last year’s champions Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra (267) playing “Rock It”.
Pamberi Steel Orchestra (“Carnival Jumbie”) and Pan Elders Steel Orchestra (“Come Out To Play”) were tied for third with 265 points.
A total of 14 bands have qualified for the semifinals of the Medium Conventional Bands competition, which will be held this Sunday, 28th January at the Queen’s Park Savannah.
The finals will be held in Tobago at the Dwight Yorke Stadium on 10 February.
