NATUC president ready to work with Heather Seale

Despite their disapproval of how outgoing president Deborah Thomas-Felix was treated, President General of the National Trade Union Centre (NATUC) Michael Annisette said the unions will work with the new president of the Industrial Court, Heather Seale.

NATUC and the Joint Trade Union Movement (JTUM) raised concerns about the non-renewal of Thomas-Felix’s contract.

However, Annisette said: “Whoever they put as president we will work with her and respect the office.”

“The issue we have is the manner in which she was removed which raises a lot of questions. I have a problem how you treat officeholders and institutions.

Annisette added that the former president, who is well qualified, should have been treated better and it raises questions as to why.
