Police are currently investigating the robbery and murder of a 29-year-old man in Barataria on Tuesday night.
The victim is Shaquille Stewart.
Around 10:15pm, Stewart was sitting in his black Nissan Sylphy, outside his workplace, Associated Brands on Bhagoutie Trace, Barataria, when he was shot.
A co-worker heard the gunshot and on checking found Stewart bleeding from a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.
Stewart’s vehicle was missing.
The co-worker took Stewart to hospital and called the police.
However, Stewart was declared dead shortly after arrival.
Crime scene investigators found a spent 40 calibre shell at the crime scene and Stewart’s car was found in Valencia on Wednesday morning.
