Twenty –four hour security will be introduced at the Treasury and a contract has been awarded in this area recently.
Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, said the move was necessary in light of concern about the crime situation.
Mr Imbert said the Treasury deals with large amounts of cash received at the District Revenue Office which is then transferred to the Central Bank.
He said there has been instances of misappropriation of cash and this will new arrangement is relevant at this time.
