Hockey Board president charged with sexual assault against a minor

The TTPS Special Victims Department has charged the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board, Roger St Rose with sexual assault against a minor.

This news comes days after the Hockey Board advised members in a notice that St Rose ‘has taken a leave of absence.’

The notice added that, “During his absence, Mr John Lewis, 1st Vice President of the TTHB, will act as President.”

St Rose, of Malvern Sports Club, was elected as the new president of the T&T Hockey Board (T&THB) at its 24th Annual Council Meeting (ACM) in November 2021.

He was the first umpire from T&T to officiate at the Olympics (in 1996) and the FIH World Cup.

St Rose is a member of the Officials Committee of the Federation of International Hockey (FIH) and the Umpires Committee of the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF).
