An accident along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway on Wednesday afternoon has claimed the life of a young soldier.
Nickel Zoey, 26, of Alexandria Lane, Corinth, was heading south around 2.20 pm, when one of the tires on his white Nissan B14 vehicle blew out, causing him to crash into a lightpole along Highway, near the Papourie Overpass, Debe.
Zoey was killed instantly.
His front-seat passenger, Zarin Christine Khadoo, 19, was injured and was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital.
