The Housing Development Corporation has revealed that seventy-five percent of the two hundred fourteen rental households within Oasis Greens, Chaguanas development have fallen behind on their monthly payments of $1200.00–$1500.00, amounting to some $3,400,000.00 in arrears.
These arrears, the HDC said, limit its ability to address issues that affect residents. It believes that addressing these challenges requires a collaborative approach.
This comes on the heels of a site visit conducted, on March 24, by the HDC’s technical team led by Chairman, Noel Garcia and Managing Director, Jayselle MacFarlane, to assess the complaints by resident of infrastructural defects. .
In a media release today, the Corporation stated that it endeavours – within three weeks – to meet with affected residents and with the Oasis Greens’ Management Company to ensure a concerted effort is made to rectify the community’s matters.
