Government Has Filed Appeal In FUL Court Matter

The government has filed an appeal against the injunctive relief granted to former Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, preventing the Prime Minister from laying in the Parliament any part of a purported report on the issuance of legal firearms by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

Attorney General, Reginald Armour, provided the update in response to a question put forward by Member of Parliament for Barataria/ San Juan, Saddam Hussein.

In a ruling Tuesday, a High Court judge granted an injunction to Mr Griffith  restraining the Prime Minister from laying an executive summary or any part of the said Firearm Users License audit report before the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago or otherwise publishing any portion of the contents of same”.
