Government is being asked to reconsider its position as it relates to migrant children from Venezuela benefiting from public education locally.
The appeal comes from Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, during matters on adjournment in the Senate on Tuesday.
Mr Mark commended the Catholic Board for its role in this area but claimed there are more children which need help.
He said if these children are not given an opportunity to excel academically it could serious consequences.
