Female lab technician shot near St Joseph Police Station

A woman was shot and killed in the St Joseph area on Monday night.

The victim is 38-year-old Siobhan Rogers, a lab director at Apex Diagnostics.

Around 8:45pm, Rogers was sitting in the front passenger side seat of a silver Toyota Corolla outside a gym on Abercromby Street, St Joseph, when a silver Nissan AD Wagon drove near the car and a man with a bandana over his face got out and approached her.

The suspect then shot Rogers several times before getting back in the car and driving off.

Her boyfriend, a doctor, Edson Breedy, was closing his Athletics businessplace at the time the incident occurred.

He drove Rogers to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Centre, where she was declared dead at around 9.13 pm.

The incident took place near the St Joseph police station.
Officers of the Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) visited the scene and found two spent 40 calibre shells and a live round of ammunition.

Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II are continuing enquiries.
