Coast Guard resumes search for missing teen at sea

A teenager has allegedly drowned at a beach in Pointe-a-Pierre, but his body has not been found.

The deceased has been identified as 17-year old Iverson Thomas of Sunset Drive, Plaisance Park in Pointe-a-Pierre.

Reports indicate that Thomas and 19-year old Lesedi Lewis went to Flower Pot Beach on Tuesday around 9:00a.m. While there, Thomas got into difficulties and disappeared under the water.

Police and coast guard officials were called in but they could not locate the body.

Officers from the coast guard were expected to resume their search this morning. No further update has been provided.
