Children’s Authority to receive upgrade in the sum of $16,520,000

The Standing Finance Committee gives its approval for the Office of the Prime Minister to be given an additional 16,520,000.

Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister, Ayanna Webster Roy, says the money was needed to cover expenses in light of the expansion of the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Webster Roy said the majority of the money will be used to address human resource requirements.

During the deliberations, Member of Parliament for Couva South, Rudy Indarsingh, raised the issue of the escape of five young boys from a safe house earlier this year.
