A 38-year-old man is dead following an early morning accident on the Uriah Butler Highway.
The victim is Rishard Hosein of Soldado Road, Lange Park, Chaguanas.
According to reports, around 2:45am, a white dump truck driven by Ramesh Ramsarran was proceeding south along the Uriah Butler Highway, when on reaching the vicinity of Guayamare, he received a bad drive from the driver of an unknown vehicle.
This caused Ramsarran to lose control of his truck and swerve across the highway and crash into the guard-rail in the media.
Hosein, who was driving a Mitsubishi Lancer, was also proceeding south on the highway and he swerved to avoid hitting the truck, but crash into it.
He then hit an electricity pole and died on the spot.
