The Councilor for Carli Bay/California on the Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation, was robbed on Thursday morning.
Ramchand Rajbal Maraj said that around 9:30am, a well-dressed man with a rastafarian hairstyle came to his Rowan Street, Balmain, Couva home, seeking his services in the capacity of Justice of the Peace.
Maraj said the man initially asked for a WASA certificate stamp, but then pulled out gun and told him to go into the house.
Maraj said the gunman ransacked his home and made off with a quantity of jewellery and cash before stealing his Toyota Hilux.
The police were notified and Maraj said they responded in the quickest possible time.
Investigations are now underway.
