Carenage man arrested for possession of gun and ammunition

One man was arrested for being in possession of a firearm and ammunition during an anti-crime exercise conducted between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday 20th April 2021, in Carenage.

During the exercise, a party of officers proceeded to a house at Smith Hill, Carenage, where they executed a search warrant for firearms and ammunition. Upon searching the premises, the officers found one pistol fitted with a magazine and two rounds of nine millimetre ammunition. The officers took possession of the firearm and ammunition and arrested a 24-year-old man, who resides at the premises.

The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Kelvern Thompson and ASP Henry, coordinated by Insp Grant, Insp Reyes, Ag/Sgt Carmona, supervised by Ag/Cpl Khan, and included members of the Western Division Task Force.
