Canaan woman charged with larceny of 13 sheep

A 48- year old woman was granted bail in the sum of $75,000, after she appeared before Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on 14th March, 2023. She was charged with three counts of Larceny Live Stock.

MINEVA LAMBKIN, of Canaan, is expected to reappear in court on the 11th April, 2023.
After receiving several reports of Larceny, where several goats and sheep were stolen in the Shirvan Road district, on Thursday 9th March, officers of the Shirvan Road Police Station and Crown Point Police Station conducted collaborative exercises, together with concerned residents of the Shirvan Community.

As a result of the operations, a fenced property at Guy Street, Canaan was under surveillance by the officers. The property was allegedly under the care and control of the suspect, where officers seized 13 sheep. The sheep were later identified by several of the victims in the Shirvan Road district.

Meanwhile, in the Canoe Bay area, several farmers who were victims of Larceny Praedial Produce were relieved when DAMION Mc EWEN, 39, was identified on surveillance cameras stealing bunches of plantains. He was held on the cultivated land of a farmer as he was cutting and carrying away 12 bunches of plantains valued at $4,800.00 on the 9th March.

Mc EWEN was fined $2,000 on 13th March when he appeared at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court, charged with Praedial Larceny and Being Found on Cultivated Lands.
