The body of a man was found in Arima on Monday night.
Officers of the Northern Division were on patrol at around 9.50 pm when they received a report of gunshots at Temple Street, Arima and went to the scene.
On arrival, they found the bloody body of a man in a drain near an abandoned house on Gaston Ruiz Street, off Temple Street.
The unidentified man appeared to be of African descent and was wearing a red vest, black short pants and a pair of white sneakers.
Crime scene investigators found eight spent shells, three bullet fragments and a cell phone at the scene.
Investigations are currently underway.
