The search is on for the suspects who shot then chopped a man outside his Arouca home on Wednesday morning.
The victim, 26-year-old Akil Allen of Mockingbird Drive, Bon Air Gardens, Arouca, was at his home around 5:45am, when he was ambushed by two masked men, who were visibly armed with a knife and cutlass.
Allen ran off as the suspects approached him but he was shot in the leg and collapsed.
The suspects then pursued him and chopped him about the body before fleeing the scene.
Allen raised an alarm and was taken to the hospital where he was treated and listed in critical condition.
Crime Scene Investigators visited the scene and found 3 live rounds and 2 spent 9mm shells.
