AG criticizes Union’s call for unvaccinated workers to come out to work

Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi yesterday described as misguided and premature, calls from Joint Trade Union Movement leader Ancel Roget for unvaccinated public servants to come to work after January 17 – when the public sector quasi safe zones are expected to start.

Al-Rawi spoke following Roget’s statements on Tuesday in which he called on unvaccinated public sector workers to still report for work.

Al Rawi said that Government’s policy in relation to vaccination in the public sector is intended to be operationalized via legislation which has to be passed in both Houses of Parliament.

Yesterday Government continued receiving numbers from divisions in ministries on vaccinated and unvaccinated workers.

It’s expected that the next move on the plan will be worked out after Cabinet gets those figures and Al-Rawi’s amended drafts of the law are both discussed.
