$2M in narcotics seized along with firearm & ammo in West, 2 men held

Two men are now assisting police with enquiries after officers found and seized over $2M in narcotics, as well as a firearm and ammunition during anticrime exercises on Wednesday 10th April, 2024.

According to reports, an intelligence led exercise was conducted by members of the Western Division Task Force and Western Division Gang Unit. During the exercise, officers proceeded to Wilson Road, Four Roads, Diego Martin, in the vicinity of a Mosque and during their search found and seized a Glock 17 pistol loaded with seventeen rounds of 9mm ammunition.

A 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the find.

Also, between the hours of 3:00pm and 4:30pm on Wednesday 10th April 2024, an intelligence led exercise was conducted by members of the Western Division Task Force. The officers received information relative to a vehicle proceeding east along the Audrey Jeffers Highway believed to be conveying illegal firearms.

The officers intercepted the said vehicle on the highway near the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

A search revealed that one brown rectangular plastic package was found containing a quantity of marijuana weighing 520 grams with an estimated street value of $68,640.00.
The driver was arrested by PC Rogers in connection to the narcotics.

Sometime after, the party of officers acting on information received, proceeded to a bushy area near Paragon Bay, Westmoorings and conducted an extensive search of the area, resulting in the seizure of two brown rectangular packages wrapped in tape containing a quantity of marijuana, weighing 1140 grams. The drug had an estimated street value of $150,480.00. No one was arrested.
