A 16-year-old fruit vendor was robbed of $1,500 while plying his trade in the Freeport area on Wednesday.
Police report that the victim was at the corner of Mission and Arena Road in the vicinity of Singh’s Doubles Tent around 3.45 pm, when he was approached by an armed man who pointed a firearm at him and announced a robbery.
The youngster handed over the cash which represented his day’s sales and the thief then quickly fled into a waiting white Nissan Almera and escaped.
Police are now searching for the suspect.
