TTRN boss says company committed to fulfilling their obligations to the BIR

“We are fully committed to fulfilling our obligations to the Board of Inland Revenue.”

Those are the words of Trinidad and Tobago Radio Network Limited (TTRN), Managing Director, Anthony Chow Lin On.

TTRN owns Star 94.7, 96.1 WEFM AND 107.7 Music for Life and is said to be owing 34-million dollars to the BIR.

In a letter dated today, Chow Lin On, also known as Chinese Laundry, said despite challenges that affected the company over the past few years, it’s liaising with the BIR towards a speedy resolution.

He said: “We are fully committed to fulfilling our obligations to The Board of Inland Revenue and to our dedicated staff of 84 employees, who have shown unwavering loyalty and support over the years.

We are actively collaborating with the relevant authorities to resolve this matter as swiftly and efficiently as possible.”

Chow Lin On continued: “TTRN, a company with a proud 31-year history is well regarded as the pioneer of the urban radio format that has been popularised not only in Trinidad and Tobago but throughout the Caribbean. Through our innovation and tireless commitment, we have created employment and opportunities for many to grow and flourish.

“The past few years have been challenging for many businesses, creating a ripple effect that has also impacted our business operations. Despite these challenges, we are determined to overcome this hurdle as we recognise the crucial role that independent media plays in our society and remain focused on our long-term vision.”

Chow Lin On said TTRN will not be deterred by the ongoing conversation as its focus is on resolving the current situation.

He thanked listeners and clients for their supportive messages throughout this time.
