The Retailers Association of T&T is happy with the news that their sector has been given the all-clear to reopen on August 16th.
Spokesman for the association, Omar Hadeed, in an interview with GML, said that his members were happy that the sector will be reopened after being financially exhausted for the last few months.
He said they are all extremely grateful for the opportunity to return to their livelihoods as many of them have been exhausted mentally and financially through the past few months trying to hold on.
Hadeed added, “This is, however, just the start to a long and difficult road to recovery to which all stakeholders involved will need to work together to ensure sustainability.”
He told the media house that the key to the reopening process was the continued vaccination of the sector as this is the only way forward as global statistics suggest.
