Confirmed laboratory cases of dengue fever this year is 123 so far for the year.
Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, made this known in the parliament on Friday.
Deyalsingh provided a breakdown of the figures indicating in January, there were 17 cases of the dengue virus, followed by 13 in February, 19 in March, 31 in April and 43 in May.
In a radio interview this week the minister also confirmed one person had succumbed to the virus.
Some of the steps taken to address the situation include a dengue-sensitisation project, which included clinical and public awareness, mosquito source reduction and spraying communities.
