The Pan American Health Organisation is depending on information and data sent to the institution from Trinidad and Tobago relating to the premature deaths of seven babies at the Port of Spain General Hospital before determining the composition of its team which will probe the incident.

This was confirmed by Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, in the Senate during the question and answer period this morning.

Recently Minister Deyalsingh said PAHO, the Caribbean Industrial Research Institute and Office of the Chief Medical Office will investigate the development.

Meanwhile the Health Minister advised that the parents of the seven babies who died in the NICU at the Port of Spain General Hospital should be provided with the medical notes and records requested from the hospital by the end of the day or tomorrow.
