Couva North MP calls on gov’t to address unpaid school maxi operators

Government is being asked to urgently address the issue of unpaid school transport maxi operators.

The call has been made by Couva North MP Ravi Ratiram.

Mr Ratiram claims operators have not received payment for the past four fortnights this school term, with outstanding payments from the previous term as well.

He adds that the situation is creating hardship for the operators who have families to take care of, as well as they students who depend on the transport service.

He is now calling on both the Ministers of Education and Works & Transport to immediately respond to and address this situation.
