Chaguanas To Sando Taxi Fares To Increase Later This Month

From March 27th, persons travelling from Chaguanas to San Fernando will have to pay two dollars more to get to their destination.

At present the fare is sixteen dollars.

However, it will rise to eighteen later this month.

Prior to this, the fare was increased two years ago.

President of the Trinidad and Tobago Taxi Drivers Network, Adrian Acosta, in an interview said operators are paying more to maintain their vehicles.

Mr Acosta cited a hike in cost of vehicle parts, labour and gas as areas of concern which influenced the decision.
