Cabinet has agreed to and confirms an extension to the years of service of Police Commissioner, Erla Harewood Christopher.
This is for the period May 15th, 2023 to May 24th, 2024.
This extension will be for a period of one year in the first instance and thereafter, subject to an annual review, for a maximum of two further periods of one year each in accordance with legislation.
Commissioner Harewood Christopher will attain the compulsory retirement age of 60 years on May 15th this year.
The Ministry of National Security said action for the engagement of her Excellency the President, in this regard, has ensued.
