6.2 magnitude earthquake strikes Trinidad and Tobago at 11:58 pm Saturday

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake struck Trinidad and Tobago at 11:58 pm Saturday. Just as people were settling in to bed the quake jolted people across both Trinidad and Tobago. It lasted approximately 40 seconds.
The UWI Seismic Research Centre confirmed the earthquake’s centre was at 10.38 N, 62.37W, 97 km northwest of Port of Spain – which is northwest of Trinidad off the coast of Venezuela. The tremors were felt across Trinidad, Tobago, Venezuela and as far as Grenada.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury, however some people in parts of west Trinidad reported power outages but it was not known whether the blackout was linked to the earthquake.
