You can now adopt a ‘Grandpal’ online, and send them gifts

Bridges to the Heart, a non-profit organization which focuses on the restoration of relationships, has launched a new programme that pairs older persons with young, interested people.

Fondly called, ‘Adopt a Grand Pal’, persons can choose their ‘grand pal’ from a selected list and send them written gifts in the form of letters and cards.

On the company’s Facebook page, it says:

“Let’s show love by sharing cards! Let’s Adopt a GrandPal because physical distancing should never result in emotional isolation!❤️”

“How does this work?
1. Follow the Bridges to the Heart Facebook page, browse the ‘Adopt a GrandPal’ album and identify your GrandPal(s) by commenting below their post.
2. Decide what you’d like to send them. It can be a card, a letter, a drawing – anything written that you think they’d enjoy based on their interests!
3. Tag two of your friends and share this flyer to get the word around!
4. Use the contact info given (or message us on social media) to arrange to get your card to us so we can get it to your GrandPal. Please ensure that you include your name on your envelope as the sender.”

“Write it with love✍🏾 Seal it with love💋 Send it with love💌”

It added, “Let’s show love by sharing cards! Let’s Adopt a GrandPal because physical distancing should never result in emotional isolation!”
