A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Wednesday evening, as she attempted to cross the Beetham Highway.
Around 6:25pm, Esther George was on the eastbound lane of the highway, crossing from Beetham Gardens to the landfill, when she was hit by a silver Nissan Wingroad.
George died at the scene.
The driver of the Wingroad notified police and officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Unit visited the area.
The police have made a request for the CCTV footage from a nearby lightpole.
Port of Spain police are continuing enquiries.
