A 28-year-old woman, identified as Keifer Wilson, was allegedly knocked down by her boyfriend in Debe on Tuesday night.
Wilson of Caratal Road, Gasparillo, was a passenger in a white Toyota Aqua which was being driven by 42-year-old Eglon Senior.
The man told police that shortly before 10pm, while driving along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway near Gandhi Village, Debe, a dark grey Mazda 3, driven by Wilson’s boyfriend, 26-year-old Travis Nicholas of Saddle Road, Maraval, suddenly cut in front of him and abruptly stopped, causing Senior’s vehicle to rear-end the Mazda.
After the collision, both drivers and Wilson got out of their vehicles, and began arguing.
Wilson and Senior allegedly attempted to flee the scene on foot, crossing the highway’s median to the northbound lane.
However, Nicholas returned to his vehicle, drove to the Gandhi Village roundabout, and got back onto the northbound lane.
It was at this point that Nicholas struck Wilson, who was trying to cross the highway.
An injured Wilson was later found lying in a nearby drain. She died shortly after.
W/Cpl Sutherland of the San Fernando Police Station is continuing investigations into the incident.
