Woman received $1,750,000 after losing her leg due to a botched pedicure

A woman who got an infection after a pedicure and then had to have her leg amputated received a settlement of $1,750,000.

In a Tampa Bay report in September 2018, Clara Shellman was getting a pedicure at Tammy’s Nails 2 when an employee cut her foot. She ended up with a bad infection that spread and lead to her losing her leg.

Shellman was overwhelmed by her medical bills and lost her house. She had to move in with family. Last May, she filed a lawsuit against the salon.

In the suit, she claimed the salon used dirty tools that put their customers at risk. A settlement of $1.75 million was reached two weeks ago.
