Woman escapes death after electricity pole falls on car

A woman narrowly escaped death after a concrete light pole and transformer fell on her windshield while driving through Pleasantville.

Police reported that the woman was driving behind a cement truck in her black Kia Rio along Chaconia Drive around 10.30 am when the truck pulled down the overhead electrical lines and pole.

San Fernando Mayor Robert Parris said vehicles exceeding a certain height are supposed to inform the city corporation when they are passing through certain areas but they received no notification. He said they will be looking at enforcing that law.

Fire fighters of the Mon Repos Fire Station, officers of the Mon Repos Police Station and T&TEC are investigating.
